Title: Colour (Cold-Warm Contrast)
Post by: Ronson on July 07, 2013, 01:35:41 pm
With cold warm contrast the greatest contrast (or polar contrast,) is green-blue (for cold) and orange ( for warm) on the colour wheel. When applying cold warm contrast the warm colours should not be the same in quantity for the best effect. If you want a cold painting then the greatest area on the canvas should be cold. If you want a warm painting then the greatest area on the canvas should be warm colours. Having equal areas of warm and cold colours stagnates the composition. Get a copy of the colour wheel.
